Festive mood continues with open day

THE festive mood continues as the SS25 MCA Lifelong Learning Centre will be organising an Open Day and Chinese New Year open house on Feb 22.
“The Open Day will be celebrated like a carnival featuring lion dance performances and also information on courses we organise,” organising chairman Ch’ng Soo Chau said, adding that the Chinese would usually spend a month to celebrate the Chinese New Year festival.
The event, which will take place from 10am to 3pm at its centre in the Mayang Industrial Park, will also feature a series of talks and demonstrations on various courses.
“We hope more people will know about this centre and its activities through the event. It is also aimed at cultivating a better relationship with the neighbourhood,” Ch’ng said.

Ch’ng expected more than 500 people to attend and welcomed residents to join in the celebration.
He also said while SS25 residents were encouraged to join the courses, those from other places were also welcomed.

“The courses are open to everyone. Currently, we have students of different races, including foreigners, in our classes,” he added.
Centre chairman and Wanita MCA chief Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun will also be presenting certificates of attendance to the first batch of students.
SS25 MCA Lifelong Learning Centre will offer a beauty course in April in collaboration with KOSE Malaysia.
“In the economic crisis, we hope to share some knowledge on make-up and how to take care of the skin at home instead of spending money in beauty salons,” KOSE Malaysia assistant marketing manager Patricia Chin said.
