Hazel is a social activist and a public speaker. She
shares the same concern with every Malaysian on the
rising crime rate. From her own many bad experiences
with various crimes and having learnt from safety
experts from US and Canada, she now speaks to public
on practical ways to prevent crimes from happening to
them. She believes strongly everyone has a right to a
safe and peaceful living and that we should all take
personal responsibility for our own “personal safety” .
The first few sessions in a series of “safety talks”
will be held at …… Come and be equipped with

your families – without having to learn how to fight

（八打灵9日讯）根据罪案数据显示暴力罪案不段增加，在2008年首4個月的暴力罪案已從前年2007年的1万零733宗增加至去年2008年的1万2654宗，平均每10万人当中有45人会成為罪案的受害者。罪案随時都会发生在你我身边，防范罪案不只是警察的责任，公众同样扮演非常重要的角色。同样的“犯罪者固然可憎，但我们也有責任阻止发生罪案。匪徒都在寻找机会下手，公众有义务和责任保护自己、保护亲人、保护财产；我們要時刻警惕自己，不要给机会匪徒靠近我们。”
有鉴如此，八打灵SS25马华终身学习中心与及终身学习网络有限公司将在1月17日（星期六），从9时30分至12时30时分（英语为媒介语）及2时正至5时（华语为媒介语）举办“如何确保自身和财务安全”讲座，主讲人谢淑华女士是一名著名讲师社会活跃份子。她长居国外，回国后曾多次受害于多种罪案。她的亲身经历，除了自我检讨，也向国内外美国及加拿大安全专家请教，并将各种防范罪案的心得与大家分享。她深信每个人都有平安生活的权力而不是被迫活在恐惧中。并认为维护自身，家人和社会安全是大家共同责任。
其讲座内容将以当今高罪案的环境下，如何确保自身和财物安全，让大家一起探讨：-罪案是如何发生？如何避免成为受害人？有那些有效的防范措施？如何正确叫喊求救？该不该使用自卫武器？受害后如何处理心理恐惧，尽快恢复正常？
